Gardens
Much more than just a public park, the botanical garden is designed primarily for passive recreation. Once the location for the first 4 holes of Frankston’s original 9 hole golf course (1938). The club closed in 1974 because the developing area had come too close to the flying golf balls. With a large central lake, various tracks and seating areas, a fern gully containing a glade decorated with wood carvings featuring native birds and animals, this area also pays homage to the heritage of the indigenous Bunwurrung people.
